WEEK 1: Decolonize your marketing mindset

First, we need to unlearn everything we know, dislike, and distrust about marketing.

Why we do it: Marketing as you know it, is broken. If you don’t start this process by unlearning, you’ll struggle to own your power online.

  • Systemic, cultural and experiential influences that have shaped your marketing mindset

WEEK 1-3: Become magnetic

In three weeks, you will build your signature brand messaging playbook.

Why we do it: This is the ticket to leading your movement, communicating your value, being the one that comes to mind in your area of expertise, creating content that is compelling to your customers, and getting paid to be yourself. Whew! You ready?

Hi, I’m Natalia.

I spent almost a decade in marketing before unlearning a lot of it. As much as I loved the creativity, the strategy, and the psychology—I hated working on projects that weren’t exactly aligned with my values.

I always knew I’d either leave the industry or reinvent it.

Then 2020 happened…the year that got us all fired up and fed up. For the first time, companies had no choice but to become acutely aware of the harm they were causing in their marketing.

And that was the turning point—the opportunity to abandon conventional marketing that I had been fantasizing about.

So I started working closely with DEI consultants and educating marketers on an anti-oppressive approach. I used the same principles in my work with brands like Apple, lululemon, and New York Times bestselling authors like Deepak Chopra, Glennon Doyle, and Layla F. Saad.

Then I took to LinkedIn to spread the anti-oppressive marketing movement—which led to podcast conversations, virtual workshops and keynote invites. I’m telling you, I’m committed to this mission.

But I can’t do it on my own.

So, I created Get Embodied to teach change-maker entrepreneurs how to market themselves with integrity.

  • Marketing is necessary at every stage of business, but you need to make sure that you have the financial capacity to invest in this without putting yourself in a tight squeeze.

  • Couldn’t tell you. Maybe it will. Maybe it won’t.

    Your revenue depends on way too many factors that aren’t in my control. I don’t make misleading promises like that.

  • This is about getting clear on your messaging and then sharing that message using a simple marketing plan and solid writing skills for online platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, your website, your sales page…etc.

    This is not about algorithm hacks and platform-specific tips n’ tricks.

  • You will get access to course content from Weeks 1-8 (the personal branding and brand messaging, and content marketing components of the program) from day one.

    8 weeks later you’ll get access to the remaining course material one module at a time to help you up-level your offer and sell online.

  • Coaching calls are weekly. The schedule is to be determined. Please know that if you can’t make the times, you can submit your questions beforehand and can catch the answer in the recording.

  • You should set aside 2-4 hours every week to do the work. The group Study Sessions are there as an extra boost to catch up or get ahead.

    How it works: We meet on Zoom. You each declare to the group what you will work on. You work on it solo for 2 hours, mics on mute. Towards the end you share where you landed, where you got stuck, and what your next action will be.

  • Every student has the opportunity to have their questions answered in the weekly coaching calls. There will also be monthly Peer Feedback sessions with mini groups where your peers will help you break through walls, share observations, and brainstorm solutions.
